Final Draft Housing Needs Assessment Methodology for Public Comment

Senate Bill 24-174 requires each local government, with some exceptions, to conduct and publish an HNA no later than December 31, 2026, and to update the HNA at least every six years thereafter. This new law also directs the state to develop, by December 31, 2024, a methodology to conduct local and regional housing needs assessments.

DOLA invites you to review the Final Draft Housing Needs Assessment Guide for Colorado Communities and to comment using the Final Draft Housing Needs Assessment Methodology form by December 16, 2024. In your comment, please note the section and page number (e.g., "C. Housing Inventory, pgs. 30-31”), and please also provide links to any additional resources that may be helpful to reference in the report.
