Updates to HB24-1313 Transit-Oriented Communities Maps

HB24-1313 directs DOLA to publish certain maps by September 30, 2024. State agencies published draft maps in August 2024 to enable stakeholders to review and provide comments prior to this deadline. After receiving comments, state agencies have now made minor updates to the maps and accompanying documentation. If you have questions or would like to meet with state staff regarding the maps, please sign up for office hours or send us an email.

Please note: The Transit Areas established by these maps are for calculating the Housing Opportunity Goal, and not all of these areas need to allow for more dense residential development in their zoning. HB24-1313 enables Transit-Oriented Communities to meet their Housing Opportunity Goal in several different ways by choosing where to designate Transit Centers (i.e. allow residential development of a certain density). Additionally, these maps do not account for types of parcels that are exempt from the law (e.g. parks, industrial areas, flood hazard zones), which transit-oriented communities will remove before calculating their Housing Opportunity Goal.
