Welcome!

The Department of Local Affairs’ Division of Local Government (DOLA/DLG) has been directed to implement a number of land use and housing bills passed by the Colorado General Assembly in the 2024 legislative session.

For information about the requirements and applicability of these new laws, visit the 2024 Land Use and Housing Legislation webpage, or our subpages for each new law:

Public Engagement Opportunities

This page will support stakeholder engagement as DOLA develops the tools, guidance, and resources required by these new laws.

While we are working to make this process and its results as transparent and public as possible, participation in the tool development process will be suitable for local governments working to comply with these new laws and interest groups explicitly identified in the laws (see applicability through the links above).

Subject Jurisdiction Engagement Opportunities

Subject jurisdictions and listed interest groups are encouraged to register for our multi-law stakeholder engagement series, subscribe for updates (through the button on the top right of this page), and submit comments and questions as new material is posted. Other interested persons or groups are encouraged to check back on this page to review progress and engage with new content that becomes available.

Document Access Accommodation

Representatives of subject jurisdictions and listed interest groups who require accommodation in accessing the project documents may reach out to Senior Policy Advisor for Land Use and Transportation, Kelly Blynn.

  • Per HB24-1304, the State of Colorado is developing technical assistance resources to support local governments with implementing best practices managing parking demand and supply. As part of that work, the State is surveying a variety of professionals, local government staff, and other interested parties involved with parking management. Responses to this survey received before September 6, 2024 will inform State officials' understanding of existing parking management models and gaps, and will contribute to a body of research for ongoing technical assistance to communities across Colorado. For more information and to participate in additional stakeholder work related to this topic, please sign up for updates. Thank you for your time!
