The Ridge View Campus in Watkins, Colorado has been transferred from the Colorado Department of Human Services to the Department of Personnel for use by the Department of Local Affairs, Division of Housing. The ultimate goal is to make the campus a Supportive Residential Community where residents can recover from homelessness, find long-term housing stability, and reintegrate into their community of

The Ridge View Campus Plan

The Ridge View Campus in Watkins, Colorado has been transferred from the Colorado Department of Human Services to the Department of Personnel for use by the Department of Local Affairs, Division of Housing. The ultimate goal is to make the campus a Supportive Residential Community where residents can recover from homelessness, find long-term housing stability, and reintegrate into their community of choice. The Department of Local Affairs will be seeking input from the public and other organizations to make the Ridge View Campus a success.

    The Master Planning process for the Ridge View site into a Supportive Residential Community has engaged the community in a variety of ways. Our goal is to engage many diverse perspectives into creating a plan that serves Coloradans effectively. The primary engagement events have included the following:

    • 1/23/2023: Engage DOLA Ridge View website went live! The public can subscribe to Ridge View updates and submit questions or comments to staff
    • 3/20/2023: Aurora City Council Study Session Presentation & Discussion
    • 4/18/2023: Arapahoe County Commissioner Study Session Presentation & Discussion
    • 4/3/2023, 6/22/23, 7/24/23: Steering Committee visioning sessions
    • 5/16/2023: Programming Interview with statewide service providers and subject matter experts
    • 6/26/2023: Focus Group with residents with lived experience of homelessness and substance use recovery
    • 7/19/2023: Aurora Ward 6 Town Hall Meeting
    • Late 7/2023: Survey distributed to local residents to inquire about possible utilization of public services on site

    Future meetings: Local emergency responders, Public town halls and elected officials, lived experience engagement with procured service provider(s)
